All beans, properly soaked (even a two days soak if needed, for red kidney beans for example), and well cooked, are similar. That is because the lectins are similar though with varying amounts. If you want really light beans, make them into natto.... (more)

I'm no expert, but as far as I've researched, butter, coconut oil and olive oil are the best things to cook with. So you're probably good, as long as there's no secret veg oil in the butter.
