What do you think of my acne diet?

I would appreciate some opinions on my regimen. I am on an acne-friendly paleo version and am seeing results, so the diet is clearing up my face. I am also losing tons of weight and am concerned if I can maintain this lifestyle, because I feel great, but also fear not to do something wrong (again). When I was just paleo and overate on fruits, nuts and meat, my face was nightmare.


Going to bed: 10-11 pm

Wake up : 5 am

6 days a week I exercise on an empty stomach (low intensity to HIIT, some weights, I do what I feel like) for 30-90 min. Maybe some yoga. I sweat a lot.

Breakfast: Green smoothie, max. 1 piece of fruit (mostly without any), but 30-40g hemp protein powder in it and other extras

Lunch: big ass salad plus:

X5 days of the week 250g wild salmon or shrimps

X2 days of the week organic pork or chicken (300g max)

Dinner: big ass salad plus:

X 3 days of the week eggs (3 per serving), organic, maybe once of them with bacon (not organic)

X 2 days of the week sweet potatoes (2 per serving :) )

X 2-3 days of the week : just the big ass salad, but with lots of extras : avocados, maybe some stir-fry with olive oil native extra (aubergines, zuccini, green beans, cabbage)

If I am hungry, I just eat more veggies. I strive to balance the omega 3-6 ratio and dont have more money for organic meat, so I am sometimes very hungry, but.....

I drink 3 litres of water a day

Vitamins :

- Vit. D3 1.000-2.000 IU with lunch

- Skin vitamin complex with zinc 3 times a day (veeeery beneficial, but can be bought just in east europe :( )

- Additional Zinc plus Vit. C ( total around 30 g a day Zinc)

- L-Glutathione Reduced 400 mg a day (not sure if it does anything, but anyways)

- Cod liver oil 1 teaspoon a day ( I guess this is 880 mg omega 3 and a bunch of vit A and D)

For vitamin E I try to eat LOTS of bell pepers. I can swear I see the difference in my face!!

So basically this is it.

I have a topical regimen, but nothing that special.

I am 5 ft 7, around 140 pounds and not mind going down to the 120ish. But I want to stick to my diet and dont know if it is safe. What do you think? Sorry for the long post and maybe the spelling mistakes. I am not American. :)

P.S> Oh, almost forgot. I begin taking a probiotic from tomorrow on :)

Good Diet for acne overall.

I also found chia seeds to be an excellent source of ALA omega 3's which also help calm down inflammation and improve the post acne red stains on the skin and they are incredibly affordable as very little is needed for a decent serving as a fiber option.

It's not paleo but grass fed milk kefir has been the closest thing I ever got to being a cure for acne and when I say cure I mean I could cheat with acne causing foods and not have any breakouts but sadly my maid threw it out and I don't have access to them where I currently live.

Also they are a much more potent and effective probiotic than the pills. half a cup a day did the trick for me utilizing raw grass fed milk.

Aztec clay mask on amazon which also reduces the redness of current acne and post acne discoloration.


Braggs raw apple cider vinegar which can be found in walmart, any health food store or amazon is my secret to preventing a pimple from growing larger and more inflammed, it also speeds up the healing of the skin but coconut oil is superior for speeding skin regeneration.

I'm not a big fan of supplements generally speaking, but your diet and exercise routine seem like a step in the right direction for sure. Topical Benzoyl Peroxide would be your friend during your transition.

It sounds like a great step towards better skin. Be careful how much zinc you are supplementing though because you can end up giving yourself a copper deficiency if you overdo it. Also I hope you meant 30mg of zinc per day and not 30g :)
