when i was on SCD, i used coconut flour mixed with almond flour. i usually didn't bake solely with coconut flour because i can't eat eggs. for some reason, you need more eggs when you bake with coconut flour.

on a slightly off-topic question, is there a consensus on the 'best' non-gluten flour. like say rice, rather than nuts?

I have a recipe that I would like to change to a Paleo Recipe. Can you tell me the Almond and Coconut Flour equivalents to substitute in place of regular Flour. Thank you. Judy R.

Judy, you really can't do a 1 to 1 swap in most recipes. Almond and coconut flour behave completely different than wheat flour. Can you share what recipe you are trying to paleofy? Maybe someone has a recipe that is similar that you could tweak. (more)

You boil the almond meal with the milk with some flax seed, it gives you that oatmeal consistency, and a good alternative to oatmeal.

I make an oatmeal-like cereal with a 50:50 mix of flax seed and hemp hearts. The hemp hearts give it a nice texture. Adding coconut or nuts helps, too.
