Carrageenan. It's in almost every single brand of rice, soy, almond and non-diary milk that I find. What is it, is it safe, are there any side effects that you've had and do you think it's something that needs to/should be avoided? Any... (more)

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=carrageenan It's basically highly processed seaweed product. Seaweed tends to be very healthy, but like most highly processed things, I suggest avoiding carrageenan. (more)

So to give you some background I've been pretty strictly Paleo (aside from grass-fed meat, but I have bought a bit of wild fish!) for the last 2-3 weeks and want to continue this way as much as possible. My aim is to be healthier but mainly to... (more)

I like doing whole cream from grass-fed cows. Low on lactose, and very high in saturated fat. Whole cream can keep you sated for hours.

I make my own almond milk. I dry the pulp in my dehydrator then throw it into the freezer to keep. I use it as I would almond flour and it works like a charm. (Sometimes I do a second grind if it's not fine enough for baking.)

You boil the almond meal with the milk with some flax seed, it gives you that oatmeal consistency, and a good alternative to oatmeal.

I make an oatmeal-like cereal with a 50:50 mix of flax seed and hemp hearts. The hemp hearts give it a nice texture. Adding coconut or nuts helps, too.
