Baking soda drain clogger

by 644 · February 11, 2013 at 04:04 PM

So, I started using baking soda for all of my cleaning, it's great stuff!! I even use it instead of shampoo. Now my drains are clogged with it, we had to dig the septic system up twice to unclog it, and it is clearly baking soda. Does anyone else have this issue? I hate to give it up. Any suggestions are very welcome, especially hair care suggestions.

Thanks

I for some reason cannot comment on the above, which I upvoted... but yup pour vinegar down there doesn't have to be much, OR what I usually do as I never seem to have vinegar on hand, is a kettle full of boiling water. That'll clear it out.

Baking soda + vinegar is supposed to unclog drains, so maybe pour some vinegar down the drain?
