Just curious to know whether you guys eat bananas regularly on paleo as a starch source. I don't, not really, 'cause I don't really like how it tastes but I'm looking to alternative starch sources, so... Bananas on paleo. Thoughts?

Hi, I eat them almost every day. As a natural food I doubt the carbs do any harm. Anyway you probably should stay away from 30 bananas a day

I love banana and know it is a good choice of nutrients, including potassium. In one book the author spoke of pureeing banana and freezing it. I know how high the carb content is in a banana. Anyone have any thoughts on how to incoorate it on paleo? (more)

Wikipedia claims that bananas have the same type of fiber (resistant starch) as grains. A few Paleo books have made the claim that the type of fiber in grains is bad for the gut, scratching and tearing it along the way. Does banana fiber do the same? (more)

Are they healthy? Are organic bananas better than non-organic? Especially if the peel is edible? Do the peels have lots of pesticides on them? What else could I use the peels for, if not eaten?

Yes they are edible, and yes they are healthy. I would opt for organic if you want to eat them to avoid the pesticides. If you don't want to eat them you can compost them.
