I would add redlight or incandescent lights. When you get UV from the sun to get vitamin D, the red light component of the sun protects you from the damaging aspect of UV to some degree. The color temperature of 7500K suggests it has less red than... (more)

Investigate natural latex. It's made from rubber trees without any chemicals (unlike the tempurpedic foam), and it's delightful to sleep on. I find that I toss and turn much less, so I wake up more rested. It's not cheap, but it lasts much longer... (more)

I was reading another hack and came across an answer touting how the person looked much more toned after sleeping on a hard surface for a few days. Any research behind this? Anyone personally experienced this? The extra soft beds we have now are... (more)

I wouldn't say it has made me more toned, but I believe that it has helped to improve posture and functioning motion. Granted, I attribute most of that to exercise, but we do spend ~8 hours a day sleeping. I sleep on the floor with only a feather... (more)

I started sleeping on the floor, well over a year ago now. I sleep on a few old packing blankets on a hardwood floor. I have found I get a more restful sleep, I am never stiff when I wake up and I do believe my posture has improved. I used to get... (more)

The most paleo way to eliminate bedbugs is heat or cold. They die if you put your mattress outside when it's freezing. Also, you can hire a company to super-heat your place for a very high fee. Other methods are fairly effective, but not 100%. And... (more)

I heard you can't "catch up on sleep". Is that true? I know I should probably go to bed when it gets dark or at latest 10:00-10:30, but often times I find myself getting many things done past that hour, because it is quiet and peaceful, and I'm... (more)

Try to sleep as regularly as possible. Some people claim 6 hours are enough, once your body got used to that rythm (i.e. go to bed same time, wake up same time) and as long as you have a healthy lifestyle with a least a little sport/walking each... (more)

I usually eat at 9-9.30PM and go to bed at 10.30PM. Yet some people say they have dinner at 6PM? That's so weird... Maybe it's because I'm from a sunny area and over here the sun stays up later (Mediterranean). Are there drawbacks when it comes... (more)
