What about low stomach acid? Do a search on the web about it. There's a homemade test with asking soda you can try that may give you the answer or better yet talk to your doctor about it and possible he could test you.
So every once and a while I will get a burger and fries at family cookouts and stuff. When I have them with a sprite, the only soda I really ever do drink, I have less bloating than with just apple juice. Does this happen with anyone else? I wish... (more)
Sodas generally contain phosphoric acid (pH around 2.7, so quite acidic) ... that might be the reason it helps your digestion. From what I can remember soda always helped when I had too much to eat ... but I stay away from it nowadays.
