Religious calorie counting bears much resemblance to the ritualistic and obsessive eating patterns of Eating Disorders. But can calorie counting (whether for weight gain or weight loss) be a trigger for people to slip into an eating disorder?

Water has no calories and food is mostly water, so yes, you have to take into account water content. If you want to count calories, use a calorie counting website like: cronometer.com, paleotrack.com, loseit.com, etc...

Calories do matter and people can experience weight gain on paleo if they overeat. Calorie counting is pretty easy nowadays with a variety of websites/apps that essentially do it for you. Cronometer, Paleotrack, LoseIt, FitDay, etc...
