I'm curious. ^^ Of course potatoes are nightshades, and do produce toxins. Normal potatoes will produce toxins when they go bad as well - solanine - which concentrates mostly at the skin level of the potato.

Even in my vegetarian days I would sometime breakfast with lentil soup. Now I am fully on the salty/savory side, and rice, natto, eggs or sardines, sprouts and olives can not be beat. So nutritious. I will add a fruit at the end, but that's it. (more)

This is fairly common with women that go too low on carbs. Try upping to 50-75 g a day via white rice. Split it up with each meal.

I have read before that being in the sun is very depleting. The more vitamin D you take in the more magnesium you need with it. So that might be why you feel a need for carbs - low magnesium levels.

I dunno if you're pre-diabetic - you'll need to test blood sugar to determine that. Before Paleo, I would shun dark chocolate coz it wasn't sugary enough. Now I can taste a lot of sugar in 90% dark chocolate.
