I use Evo wet and dry food. Grain free, but not cheap either, but none of the grain free food is as far as I can tell. Dandruff probably means the food they have now either has too little fat, or sucky oils in it. Okay I just checked out the... (more)

Does anyone know of any environmentally friendly alternatives to store bought cat litter? I heard that store bought cat litter can be environmentally harmful, along with costly.

My pups (German Shepherd and Siberian Husky) are grain free, they went Paleo when the rest of us did ;) We feed them Acana Pacifica, it's grain free-- it's stinky (it's made from wild caught fish) but they LOVE it. My dogs' coats look amazing... (more)

Whether or not it's Paleo, it's consistent with other evidence that high-fat low-protein moderate-carb is good for longevity.

Science Diet is mostly worthless, as are most pet food brands that can be bought in major chains. Have you brought up eating Paleo with your roommate? All the same health benefits apply to dogs and cats as well really. So maybe you could bring it... (more)

I favor raw food for my dog; it's cheap ($1/lb) and he's incredibly healthy on it. It makes sense from a Paleo perspective to feed your pets an evolutionarily appropriate diet. That said, there are few to no studies of raw food diets for pets,... (more)

My boy cat had SERIOUS issues with this. I switched to Wellness brand dry food, the red bag (he REFUSES to eat wet). If you read the Science Diet ingredients its CRAP CRAP AND MORE CRAP. At least find a good low-grain or grain-free food for... (more)
