When I made the (abrupt) switchover from (organic) SAD to Paleo, I suffered from constipation, something that continued appearing from time to time. What I have learnt is that, for me at least, the most important factor is my gut bacteria. Since... (more)
So I started the Paleo lifestyle about 3 weeks ago. I eat only meat/fish/eggs, non-starchy veggies, and nuts/avocado, with the occasional piece of 90% dark chocolate. I eat about 60-80 grams of carbs a day, 1200-1400 calories, and I exercise... (more)
Expeller-pressed coconut oil is healthier and, at least on the international commodities market, cheaper than canola oil. So why don't more restaurants use it as their cooking oil of choice, particularly as its reputation for being a healthy oil... (more)
I began paleo 2 years ago, and can't say enough how much it's positively impacted my life. However, I've always seemed to do well with a high-fat, high redmeat/eggs and very, very low carbs. I couldn't handle sweet potatoes or even fruit just... (more)
When i started paleo about 18 months ago, i too was very low carb, lots of red meat and eggs, and i felt great and my body transformed for the better (with help from exercise). However, there were times when i just couldn't stomach the meat for a... (more)
Without watching this movie, I suspect it's mostly proving their point, but not actually suggesting what we need to do. So, to anyone who's seen it, what are the bullet points for what the movie says that I DO in order to heal my brain. Is there... (more)
What arguments have you heard that changed your mind and led to a shift in your attitudes/behaviors about a dietary/fitness/medical paradigm that you have been following? What convinced you? Ex. Reading Paul Jaminet's Perfect Health Diet and... (more)

I'm studying computer science right now (2 years ago I liked mathematics and wanted a cool career, so I decided computer science would probably be best), but after a year of paleo I'm starting to hate computers more and more. They are just boring.... (more)
I have been lacto-paleo for only three weeks, but the things I've noticed have been fairly startling. I am not overweight, but I have seemed to always carry my weight under my navel, and that is shrinking daily. It was fat I thought I was doomed... (more)
Yep.... I'm a 55 year old feeling like I have the energy of a 20 year old. I have a 1.5 year old Red-Bone Coon Hound that is very high energy and I wear him out. He quits running before I do!
I have been Paleo for 6 months now, and have had no weight loss. I am an active Crossfitter (5-6 days a week of activity) so I know that while my BF has dropped, my weight has increased because of muscle. I have tried eating NC and VLC to no... (more)

At the risk of subjecting you to yet another banal and certainly verbose question, I decided to take my answer to another question as the basis for a different topic. I am going to post a few snippets from something Dr Kurt Harris wrote on another... (more)
For me it is joint pain. It goes away without gluten and sugar and comes back when I eat sugar. I think it is different for everyone, but that is one notable effect I get in the first week or so.
Sure, Supersize Me may have had fraudulent methodology for the experiment and misleading results, but the overarching message was very on-point in my opinion. I did like Fathead, but it wasn't Paleo. There's tons of Vegan Docu-ganda out there,... (more)

Coffee has done wonders for me!
