Hi there! I recently moved back from Japan to America- about 18 days ago. In that time, I seem to have gained nine pounds! I'm sure some of it is water weight, but I don't know how to get my body to regulate itself. I'm constantly hungry, but... (more)

Read "The Jungle Effect" by Daphne Miller. She explains it very well. Japan is way better for you in terms of losing weight - more emphasis on healthy foods, traditional cooking. I would lower your carb load a bit in order for your body to adjust. (more)

I'm looking to go Paleo/Primal in the next few weeks. I've been doing a lot of research but I'm worried I'm going to find it really really hard as I have a far from perfect diet at the moment and I can be quite a fussy eater. Just wondering what... (more)

Stop reading and just do it. Make adjustments along on the way, there's no need to be perfect as long as you are better off than yesterday. Rice and sugar coated corn flakes. But looking back i don't care for them. The food i eat now tastes way... (more)

I like to give it at minimum 2 weeks and you are probably better off with a month. Be careful to only make one change at a time so you are sure what is affecting you.

What was the moment when you realized what your paleo 'duh' or pareto-effect was? I.e. what was simple thing you stumbled on within paleo that made a huge, disproportionate difference in your wellbeing? For me it was sleep. I'd read about how... (more)
