Don't let perfection be the enemy of good. And don't make yourself some social pariah because of an arbitrary diet.  Load up on veggies. Even sub-par veggies (with who knows what butter substitute) are fine. Eat meat, who cares if it's not... (more)

If you are having trouble affording grass fed meat, try regular grocery store meat. It's obviously not an ideal solution, but it would give you more food for your budget.

What do you think of the idea of drinking olive oil, say 400 calories' worth, at night if I'm still hungry? It's the cheapest calories I can get that seems reasonably healthy.
