How often do you bake healthier paleo treats?

I see there are many recipes of paleo pancakes, brownies, ice cream, cinnamon rolls (oooh myy, looks soo good..), etc. Is this something you include in your diet, or do you stay away from baking and keep it totally clean?

I certainly agree that there are many paleo treat recipes and, yes, I've pinned quite a few of them. But have I made them? Only a few and only for special occasions when hosting other people. (Often, they turn out a little dissapointing.) Interestingly, I also find dark chocolate, 85% or 100%, to be quite satisfying. Once in a rare while I'll make banana "ice cream" with a little cocoa powder and almond butter.

I was thinking maybe having some dark chocolate with almond butter when I feel like it, since my diet is very clean otherwise.. Better than baking, I assume?

I used to make quite a few, but it was interesting that I would make one, try it. Enjoy one serving then think "meh" next serving, and throw the rest away.

It hits the spot when I'm craving something, but it's not fully satisfying and a lot of work. So I get the craving out of my system and I'm done with it. Now, nearly three years in, I rarely crave treats and almost never make them. So I don't agree that they are necessarily bad for you, they may stop you from a bigger cheat and help you get over your craves.

The more you let yourself eat super palatable pseudo-paleo creations, the easier it is to cheat. Its amazing how your tastes will change if you just give them a chance. By eating these fake-out foods, your taste buds never have the opportunity to re-align themselves to a more basic way of eating that isn't focused on sweets and high-reward baked goods. I try and keep it simple. If I really need a sweet, first I'll eat some raw milk cheese and see if that takes care of the sweet craving - it usually does. If it doesn't, I'll have a square of 85% dark chocolate with a tiny bit of nut butter on it. Boom. Done. Simple. I vote for keeping it as simple and straightforward as possible.

I do love to bake, and when I do I bake the real thing - and give it away or have friends over for a dinner party. Generosity feels better than brownies taste!

I don't do much baked / carby treats, but I enjoy the occasional treat. Almond butter + high cacao dark chocolate + strawberries is a nice treat with fairly decent looking macros and antioxidants (and a little bit of caffeine.)

I find the higher fat chocolate more satisfying than a larger volume of the higher sugar chocolates.

I used to avoid them but now I find it fun to occasionally make some brownies or something. I've been messing around with a recipe from NomNomPaleo I think...1 sweet potato, 1 banana (my addition), 2 tbspn honey, 2 tbspn coconut oil, 1 tbspn butter, 3 tbspn coconut flour,3 eggs. vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt. Pretty awesome and fun to have around for the week after a good gym session.

I used to do banana pancakes on the weekend but now I just skip breakfast.
