Hack 100% cocoa mass chocolate nutrients?

Hi, yesterday I bought chocolate bar that had 100% cocoa mass listed as the only ingredient. I ate it and for the first time in many days my fatigue is gone. I don't get it - what does cocoa mass have that other foods don't?

Could you please help me to figure it out? I am completely lost. Either I have to eat this chocolate for the rest of my life now or figure out what nutrients I am missing in my diet that one bar of chocolate made such a great difference.

If my question seems dumb, I am sorry. But I have seen from this board what a wealth of knowledge you guys can offer and I believe in you!!! I know you are going to tell me something I don't know!

Dark Chocolate is high in stearic acid, which in studies has shown to not affect cholesterol levels.

that article lines up with my experience as well. i upped my intake of dark chocolate, usually 85%, and my lipid numbers improved greatly.

I have never had depression in my life. I did have fatigue (physical) and I was tired all the time.

I discussed what exactly cocoa mass is a post about Hershey's Unsweetened Natural Cocoa Powder, but to give the executive summary, it is essentially ground up cacao beans that have already been fermented, skinned, roasted etc.

Cocoa mass has all the fat (cocoa butter) as well as cocoa solids (protein, micronutrients, minerals, etc.) present in an unrefined form, so it could have potentially corrected a deficiency that was leading to your feelings of fatigue.

Mark Sisson just did an extensive "eat more dark chocolate" post on MDA that you may find interesting given your recent experience...

Cocoa contains caffeine and theobromine, both of which act as stimulants.

Some chocolate consumers report anti-depressive effects, probably due to the amino acid phenylethylamine which acts on dopamine receptors in the brain.
