Cheats and cholesterol?

by 182 · September 12, 2012 at 02:27 AM

I ate 2 slices of pizza tonight and was wondering how this will affect my cholesterol levels. I do bike ride 80 miles a week and happened to do 4 miles up some big hills afterwards but I have a cholesterol test tomorrow and wanted to know what to expect. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

One meal will not affect your cholesterol levels. Might slightly affect your tryglicerides, but not much.

As far as I was aware the cholesterol you eat doesn't have anything to do with the cholesterol levels in the body as the body is what produces the cholesterol.

If anything, the fiber in the wheat will bind to some cholesterol and give the appearance of lowering circulating levels for a day or two.

This is, of course, an illusion... but you know, why question things beyond that. It's good enough for the FDA.
