Why not coconut flour instead of rice flour? I mean if you're using rice flour, it's basically the same as plain white flour that you find in regular carrot cake (don't tell me it's magically better because it's gluten-free, cake flour barely has... (more)

I am a type 2 diabetic, and I found that switching to Paleo over a year ago brought my blood sugar down from the 360~480 range to the low 200's. FANTASTIC, RIGHT? I've taken insulin before, but it caused a rapid, disgusting weight gain of 2.5... (more)

Never heard of such a mechanism of any oil, (doesn't mean it's true or false), however, as wonderful as coconut is, there are some who are allergic to it. Even then, they're allergic to the proteins, which you will find in extremely tiny... (more)

How hard was it for grok to get into a coconut? Should we treat coconut meat/butter similar to that of other nuts? The challenge of harvesting the edible portion is so great but worth the nutritional density.

I know that coconut oil is very useful for hair, but I've heard many times that coconut milk is also used, it is added in homemade shampoos, masks etc. Has someone tried to use it, did you see any results?

Coconut milk can be used not only for hair but for hair growth as well, you need to apply it on the roots and massage the scalp, then you might need to use shampoo twice to wash it out. Here's more information about coconut milk for hair loss. (more)

I can't stand the taste of coconut in everything, but I want to use it. Is deodorized coconut oil okay or should I stick to the virgin form?

If you use coconut oil, stick to the unrefined, extra-virgin variety. "Deodorized" coconut oil is refined coconut oil, and subject to chemical cleaning and bleaching. If you don't like coconut flavor, your best bet is not to use it. :-) (more)
