What's the Word on Palm Oil?

by 281 · January 30, 2011 at 8:56 PM

Has anyone cooked with palm oil before?

What are the benefits and the drawbacks?

Does it have its place in a Paleo diet?

The natural red palm oil is good for you, highly saturated and packed full of vitamin E.

Jungle Products has an organic red palm oil you can buy at Whole Foods, or health stores. Supposedly excellent for you, and I believe Paleo consistent. Theirs does not come from plantations. I find the taste pretty icky though. Coats your tongue and has a strange aftertaste to me.
