As usual, Paleo's getting more and more mentions. Lots of us paleo folks shop at Costco or other warehouses, and I find it awesome to see this puff piece that mentions Michelle Tam, Diane Sanfilippo and Mark Sission and provides a couple of... (more)
I have been buying Costco lamb, bison, processed/packaged avocado and sometimes the organic beef. If anyone has any info on the quality of the meat in particular I would appreciate it. Especially curious about how the lamb is raised. Aldi seems... (more)
The lamb is from New Zealand which means it's grassfed. Super buy! You can also get Kerrygold pastured butter at a fabulous buy. I do not believe the bison is grassfed.
When I was growing up, I think the only way that my parents managed to feed my huge family was to buy SAD food from Costco. When I grew up, I moved to a state without Costco, and never really thought about it. Now my BF and I are moving in... (more)
Ok, Lame Title, had to enter at least 15 characters.. I am fairly new to Vancouver, awesome place to live for a Paleo lifestyle it seems. (great food everywhere, outdoors everywhere, love it so far) HOWEVER.... its mega expensive> I live... (more)
At good prices. They're also carrying unsweetened almond milk in the aseptic packs.
If you shop at Costco then I want to know what your staples are... the foods you buy on a regular basis. I'm a big fan of the following... Kerrygold butter Kerrygold cheese Organic Spinach Organic Spring Mix Kalamata Olives Dark Chocolate... (more)
I am really enjoying these wild alaskan pacific frozen cod filets I got from costco. What is the omega-3 content in these like? Is this a good choice to eat for dinner 3-4 nights per week? Is this a very nutritious fish?
Wild Alaskan Salmon is top notch. In season I BBQ one wild salmon a week and eat it for lunch 2-3 times that week as well. What are in the Wild Salmon Filets from costco?
I was in my local Costco this weekend and discovered a 3 lbs pack of Organic Ranchers ground beef for $13.99 ($4.66/lbs). While it doesn't label the meat as "grass-fed", a visit to their website says that their cows are grass-fed. Although their... (more)
I'm considering buying a membership to Costco or Sam's and need some advice. It's just 2 of us, we eat meat and seafood and my boyfriend eats some cheese. I buy organic fruit and veggies when they are on the "dirty dozen." I use frozen veggies... (more)
Of those, I've found TJ's to have the cheapest price for Kerrygold (pastured) butter @~$2.69/gold brick (8 oz.). TJ's also has several options for organic produce, which I'm said to say I've not found at Sam's Club. I wish that Sam's would stop... (more)
I live in LA and have just been getting into Paleo over the past few months: -Been wearing my vibrams when I can. Luckily our weather allows for much outdoor hiking & vitamin D obtaining...except when I'm stuck on the computer at... (more)
I saw this on Costco website Not sure if they also have it in their warehouse but any Paleo ppl tried this b4? The website didn't specify the ingredients. Thanks! (more)
I saw this thread on Costco finds. Right now we're weighing whether or not to switch from Sam's Club to Costco when our Sam's membership runs out this summer, and at the core of this decision is the quality and prices of paleo-friendly items... (more)
Re. the "organic milk". It's organic, but it is also usually ultra-pasteurized, meaning it was heated to 280 degrees for X seconds. Not necessarily bad (unless you're in the raw milk faction), just means it's more processed.
Costco (USA) sells a rack of Australian lamb chops. They're quite tasty and not too expensive. Anyone know if this source is pastured? Is pastured (weaned I suppose) lamb as omega-3 balanced as grassfed beef? I love the latter, but I'm tiring of... (more)
