Off the top of my head I'd say it sounds fungal. Both ketones and moisture make for happy fungus. Anti-fungal medications can be pretty harsh, so when you go to the doctor (you are going to the doctor about this, right?) you might want to ask... (more)

Wines and champagne have a lot of histamine and usually sulfites. Do a fun experiment and see if vodka (or any other pure distilled liquor) has the same effect.

Try a humidifier in your bedroom. The higher moisture in the air can help ease a dry cough. If you don't have one you can also close yourself in your bathroom and run your shower really hot until the bathroom fills with steam and breathe in that... (more)

I endorse trying bone broth, but I use the folk remedy of warm water with honey. Since it's a "whole food" used by humans forever, a small spoonful seems innocuous and it does work for me. Another idea is full-fat yogurt; I find it very soothing... (more)

With an asthma flare-up, sometimes you just have to give it time. Talk to your doctor about adding another inhaled steroid like Qvar or Asthmanex. You may need that to get over the hump. I just had to add Asthmanex, but it was my first flare up... (more)
