Hey everybody. Today was my first day on the Paleo diet. I have a few questions... I am not on this diet to lose weight number one. I am extremely healthy. I am a 23 year old male that weighs 150 solid. I am 5'7. I have a hard time getting a... (more)
Hi so I chose to transition to the Paleo diet over the course of around 3 days. Today's the third day. The day before yesterday I ended up eating heaps, mostly paleo-stuff, lots of fat, and ended up eating most my usual carbs on top of it (rice,... (more)
Hemp oil is about 55% linoleic acid, e.g. omega-6 fat. In addition to being pro-inflammatory, n-6 fats disrupt hunger signaling both in the intestine and in the brain. Ditch the hemp oil immediately, and use fats high in saturates that will... (more)
Quick question... has anyone found that eating an avocado a day is stalling their weight loss? I introduced one a few weeks ago to add some extra fat and calories into my diet. I am near my goal weight so I'm sure that could be a factor as well. I... (more)
So... are there any paleo Valentine's Day treats that you know of? I'd like to give some goodies to my mom, but I don't want them to be super unhealthy. Any ideas?
Is it better to get all your calories in one meal so that your body isn't regularly producing insulin or does the body have trouble processing all that food at once? also, the meal in question would be low carb and high fat.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I know I'm not the only one who struggles with it, but I feel like I just can't control myself when I eat. It's either I start my morning knowing it's going to be a fast day and feel in control, or I eat food and... (more)
Anyone do this? 600 calories one day, around 3000 the next, I did the 600 calories yesterday and it was actually quite easy; even though i was a bit hungry i had a surprising amount of energy. Today I have eaten quite a lot and still feel quite... (more)
So with St. Patty's Day coming up, I was just wondering what are acceptable meals. Corned beef is one my absolute favorite things in the world. When it goes through the curing process I understand it can be heavy on the salt. Is it still... (more)
You do not need our permission to eat an old world food, some meats are cured with sugar and that is a big difference than adding a cup for your sweet tooth. Enjoy it all.
Anyone eat more than 150g (600 calories) of carbs in a day? 150g of carbs is mentioned in both the primal blueprint below as well as the Perfect Health Diet. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/how-to-succeed-with-the-primal-blueprint/#carb-curve (more)
Here's my fasting story, in a nutshell - a year ago, I went two days without eating anything. Not on purpose, just didn't have food. Probably lasted about 70 hours, but I felt fine the whole time. Ever since then, one day a week I don't eat... (more)
I am on the 30 day challenge at day 22 or so, and am constantly hungry - so are my daughters who are 1 and 3 years old. I must be doing something wrong. I am fighting autoimmune problems so am going without fruit, nuts, nightshades, eggs, etc.... (more)
Been doing pretty well on the 30 day challenge, charting everything I eat. Have had NO grains, hardly any dairy, which has been minimal cheese. I am a very fit guy and carry alot of muscle. Should I just be more patient?? Help
I'm curious why most people do a 30 day challenge? Is it because you are off paleo/primal and trying to get back on track (or just starting?) Or is there a reason, while being paleo/primal, that one does the challenge (ie: weight plateaus?). (more)
Hi, I've recently tried PaNu and I think I will like this form of diet. However, what are your thoughts on having one cheat day per week? I'm in Asia and most if not all, eat rice as a staple. My cheat day would involve moderate amounts of... (more)
This cheat meal... Who are you cheating with it? See? So what you really want here is that someone tells you... Sure, go ahead, i do the same? So, you're weakness will be perfectly justified by someone else weakness... My point is you are not... (more)
Breaks from meat seems natural. Unless a caveperson always succeeded in his/her hunt (or was 100% accurate with food storage techniques, or never experienced draught, or was never injured, etc). Part of the reason fasting might be good is to... (more)
