The dehydrating alone is not making them crispy: the starch coating and frying is making them crispy. Yes, the dehydrating helps. However, the moist-and-yet-crispy bite to them is undoubtedly from the frying. Consider dehydrating them much, much... (more)

I recently started eating some of the dehydrated organic coconut I had lying around, as a snack. So has my wife. It's delicious! Then she asks a question about processing, and I honestly don't know the answer. There aren't any sneaky chemicals... (more)

I just found this wonderful online company, but unfortunately most of their products are candy and nuts. However, they do offer a multitude of freeze dried fruits and veggies. Plus they have dried coconut (unsweetened!) too! Win! So I got a... (more)

Very topical! I just talked to someone yesterday who is doing their thesis on a inflammation-related trial employing freeze dried strawberries and blueberries. Here's what he said: -Freeze dried is typically equivalent to frozen when it comes to... (more)

Perhaps I'm being melodramatic, but it has seriously impacted my vocal performance. A little preface: I am a singer and songwriter. I have been singing basically since I was born. My mom was a hippie and played guitar and autoharp, and taught... (more)

I noticed a few other posts on this, but has anyone found a solution for the weirdly dry mouth on strict paleo? Even my lips feel like they are cracking. No amount of extra water seems to help. Am I missing something important? I've been... (more)
