How much to cruciferous vegetables affect iodine absorption? I like eating raw kale at cafes and in smoothes when I'm out. If I was to consume seaweed like nori how much would this help if goitrogens interfere iodine absorbtion?

Its my understanding that burnt meat is carcinogenic and that conventionally raised meat is pumped with hormones antibiotics etc. but if you are eating pastured meats and wild game that isnt overcooked is it any different for these meats?

Chocolate is considered paleo but it is high in phytic acid which isnt something you want if you're trying to get enough minerals in your diet.

Correlation does not equal causation; two things happening at the same time doesn't mean one caused the other. It might not have anything to do with your diet at all.

Eat a steak with some Kerrygold, some bacon, a little bit of grassfed beef liver pate, a sweet potato, and some mixed greens with EVOO. Skip the sweet potato if you're worried about gaining fat.

Below 1500 mg, observational studies have seen upticks in problems. And in some populations, high sodium levels (2300+ mg) also cause problems. Sodium is essential, but in high amounts it's problematic - just like every other nutrient.

For me I eat fruit in relatively small amounts and infrequently, I mainly eat vegetables and high protein foods.

Try Raw Milk? If you can't quit milk especially for coffee/tea, look for raw milk and introduce that instead of regular or organic milk. Coffee and Tea doesn't taste the same with any other milk! Coconut, Cashew.. just isn't the same. Sigh!... (more)
