Sorry to hear about your b/f's struggles. He should probably go back to SAD, then transition to paleo (if he wants) very gradually. Even for healthy people, a sudden change in diet can lead to digestive problems, like serious constipation.... (more)

I eat at approx 12 noon and 7 pm with a small nut/fruit snack in between if hungry. One benefit is calorie restriction, as I don't eat anymore at either meal than I used to with 3 meals. 2 meals is more than enough and I could easily do 1 meal... (more)

Very low carb can affect some people as insomnia. It's something to do with adrenalin and low blood sugar. (Someone will be along to explain it, I am sure) Maybe some sweet potato or similar with your evening meal would help.
