Thanks for joining and great to hear about your positive transition! I never tried the raw thing for too long and there is sooo much contradictory information out there. What I typically do now when cooking veggies is 1/2 raw and 1/2 cooked, best... (more)

I've heard that people who are longtime vegetarians/veg*ns/vegetarians/veg*ns from birth that the first time they have meat/first time they have meat in a while it can make them sick. Was this the case with you? Or did you handle it just fine? (more)

I broke 6 years of veganism and 7 years of vegetarianism with tuna sashimi, which was delicious and easy to digest. The next thing I introduced was turkey breast and that took some getting used to... it sat pretty heavy and the texture was... (more)

I was vegan for over a decade until I decided to leave the lifestyle behind. Now I'm pretty much 80% paleo but only with eggs and fish/seafood which are fine and don't make me sick. Recently I've been trying to add chicken, lamb, beef, bacon etc... (more)

Maybe it would help to start with animal fats or broths? Have you tried roasted vegetables in lard or bacon fat? Or maybe a vegetable soup made with a little chicken broth? Greens boiled in a little pork broth? If you can tolerate one of these,... (more)

Hi It's been just over 20 years since I ate meat, although I did eat fish and eggs up until approximately 8-10 years ago. 15-17 years since I ate dairy and 10 years since I ate grains. For about the past 5-6 years I followed Doug Graham's raw... (more)

I was vegetarian for 3 years and when I went back to meat, I just started eating it, the first thing I had was lean beef, and I had no problem digesting it, in fact it was like I had taken a 5 hour energy drink. But I grew up eating meat so 3... (more)

I would consider making small changes at a time. Try adding in just egg yolks. Easiest way is to hardboil and place in cold or ice water for easier peeling. Eggs and Fish are the keys to get back in. You made a lot of changes all at once. No... (more)

I am normally cold in an air condition room and am experiencing being very hot. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this when they started eating meat. Is there a way to cool off short of going naked? I am very uncomfortably hot?

It's called thermogenesis, and an increase in protein will do that to you. I feel flushed on days that I eat a lot of eggs and meat. EDIT: The effects of high protein diets on thermogenesis, satiety and weight loss: a critical review. (more)
