How to increase growth hormone naturally in KIDS

My question is the same as the one that was asked over here http://paleohacks.com/questions/91012/how-to-increase-your-growth-hormone-naturally.html

but how I can apply this for a 9 year old boy who is 2 inches below 5th percentile for his age?

My questions:

1.He sleeps now on average only 9.5 - 10 hours (10-11 hrs recommended). Could this be affecting his growth? Should I try to add another hour to his sleep length?

2. I know insulin will suppress growth hormone production. But kids need carbs. What suppose to be my strategy for dinner? Should I feed him lowcarb dinner 2 hours before his bed time? Or normal dinner with plenty of carbs 3 hrs before bed would be ok? What to do when he will ask for a snack before going to bed? Nuts and jerky kind snacks? Usually he is done eating dinner 1.5 - 2 hours before falling asleep.

3. Intermittent fasting.... How important is this for kids? How to implement it? Skipping breakfast on weekends?

4. I can't imagine him doing heavy weight lifting. Is this really important? Would it be enough to do high intensity interval training in addition to just kids activities?

You don't know if he was due for that 2.5 inch growth or not. You're not doing anything wrong, I find the idea of messing around with hormones and such by concocted diets/supplements to be far worse than simply being short.

I regret I am not doing everything I suppose to do to help him grow.

By the way, if he would continue to grow in the rate he grew in infancy he would be 52 inches now, not 47..

Thank you Matt, I am concerned because I believe he can grow higher.

Before he started solids he was growing between 25th and 50th percentile. Then he started his decline. 1.5 years ago I tested him with enterolab and he turned out to be gluten and dairy intolerant. After going gluten and dairy free and basically paleo he grew 2.5 inches in a year comparing to 1 1/4 inches a year before. I was happy. Kinda. Because in order to go back to his initial percentiles he needs to grow at least 3.5 inches per year. And this winter his growth slow down again.

Maybe he's just going to be short (nothing wrong with that!) Maybe he's simply developing later (nothing wrong with that either!)
