So a general overview: I've been paleo for over 2 years. I used to be vegan, I used to work out 4x a week, was very lean and strong. I then started commuting to a new job and then comfort eating and put on about 2 stone in 3 months. I've... (more)

Hi! I would like to hear about anybodys experience with a food intolerance. Egg, milk, wheat, etc. What were your symptoms and how did you feel/what happened to your body when you cut the offender out? I'm on my first day of eliminating... (more)

Well I can tell you eggs messed with my body for sure! I eliminated them for a few weeks, and after 1 day of adding them back, my symptoms flared- bloating and constipation. Another food I would never have expected to cause me symptoms is beans!... (more)

Hi everyone, I'm Marianne, I'm from Amsterdam and I will live a very strict paleo life for a year (eating, moving, being outside and more) as an experiment to show what paleo living can do to you. I'd like to do medical tests before and after to... (more)

Hi Marianne, Your video is AWESOME!!! I think just the regular complete blood work panel will do (full works), but I would also do a test on gut flora (with GI effects) just to see the effect that Paleo diet had on your intestinal... (more)

I was thinking about performing a N=1 experiment to see if I could hack a cholesterol test. I'm not at all worried about my levels (around 220), but I worry that I might need to get a test for insurance purposes, and they don't care that my heart... (more)

Try adding exercise as well! Drinking plenty of water... You can find more options by typing low cholesterol diet. Let us know if you were able to pass the test.I might need that also in a few months... (more)

So, I am thinking of trying ketosis again, because the first time I did it, I only went three weeks, I didn't feel good, and I did not lose weight. I was wondering if anyone has experimented with ketosis who does not need to lose a huge amount of... (more)

It can take 4-6 weeks for your body to be fully keto-adapted, even though your body will start producing ketones only a couple of days after you start eating a ketogenic diet (low carb, high fat). Being in ketosis doesn't necessarily mean you... (more)

Anyone here eating high fruit? Personally I have been 80/10/10, Low-carb heavy meat, and now currently eating tons of fruit, dark greens, pastured eggs and grass-fed beef. Who hear is eating alot of fruit? More carbs then typically recommended. I... (more)

I think the aversion to fruit consumption in some paleo circles, is probably a bit over-done. I don't think humans should be considered frugavores by nature, based on the diets of distant primate relatives, but I also don't think fruit should be... (more)

Was just curious on what would happen if you were to only eat pure fat sources for maybe a 48hr period. Has anyone ever tried? Are there any known risks/benefits to a pure fat diet?

I'm a big guy, very big. 6'5" 300lbs. I recently upped my Carbs after months of VLC and found that my weight loss didn't stall, it went faster. If I were to eat this diet what do you think my results would be? Tubers - Yams, Waxy-type potatoes... (more)

Low body weight? Low pulse? Do you also have problems with constipation? Those are all symptoms of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Overweight is too. I agree with Chelsea that you probably kick started your metabolism. If that's what happened, it's only... (more)

I pretty much stick with 90/10 for a diet, but I suppose this could fall under the "10". I got a gift of walnut oil (i know, weird gift right?) but they had heard that I don't use vegetable oil anymore, so they thought this would be a good one... (more)

I want to kinda give this way of eating a trial. I'm not expecting anything - just testing the waters. Would there be any health risk if I eliminated cereal (bread, oats, breakfast cereal) completely from my diet? I know that's one of the... (more)

There's no harm in testing the waters and easing into paleo. That's pretty much what I did to ease my family into it. As far as I know, there's no health risk to eliminating cereal completely. It only leaves room for more nutritious... (more)

Is it just me? I'm not accusing anyone of lying about paleo not working for them but if more people understood that each individual is different. Individuals need to experiment on themselves to find what foods work for them.

I find that when I gain weight/feel lousy while trying to "be paleo," I'm not being as paleo as I think I am. I'll assume I'm 80% there, but when I keep a food log and track my exercise and sleep, I'm really only 40% there. That other 60% is... (more)
