After 2 **ing frustrating attempts to make mayo, I now have a canning jar full of viscous goo... any suggestions how I can at least salvage the ingredients and use this up? (and yes, I did try to re-emulsify it with both the boiling water and... (more)

Once you know your emulsification is coming together you can start adding oil much faster. But it literally is just a few drops at a time to start. I recommend ditching the immersion/blender/food processor if that's what you are using. Grab a... (more)

Hi! I've been reading here for a couple of weeks now. I've been doing paleo for about a year now, and it's been great. I've lost about 100 lbs, and packed on 20-30 in muscle. For my exercise regimen, I walk 5 or more miles a day (I have two... (more)

Hello all! Last I posted I asked about keto. I tried it for 4 Weeks and ended up gaining 5 pounds, despite my tracking of macros, calories and whatnot. I decided keto was not for me because of my Crossfit. I have moved on to try IF and have been... (more)

I agree with the advice to get less exercise and/or more food. If the body doesn't think it's getting enough nutrition for the amount of work it's doing, it will go into survival mode and start hoarding weight instead of letting it go. I'd also... (more)

EDIT : I changed to title to Ray Peat experiences? since there was some confusion about the previous title (Ray Peat failures). So, what are you experiences with Ray Peat? What symptoms improved, what got worse? Is there anyone who failed on... (more)

Do people fail to stick to Ray Peat's guidelines despite their best intentions? Yes. Do people fail to fix certain problems despite sticking to Peat's best advice? Yes. Could the same be said about any dietary approach? Yes. In discussing and... (more)

I'm exasperated, and totally about to just say @(^*! IT even if this is "healthier." I've evangelized my parents into paleo but have no success to show them. This is about the end of month two for me, and I STILL haven't lost an ounce since week... (more)

Just thought I'd let you know that My plateau that lasted over a month finally went away. I'm really glad I stuck with it. I even cheated once and started having a half a sweet potato once a week (with brunch on Saturday's) and I've lost another 9... (more)

We've all heard many Paleo success stories; they are found all over the place (on this forum, on most blogs and sites, in discussions, etc). People losing tens of pounds, getting ripped, ridding themselves of allergies and other illnesses,... (more)

I know this posting is old but I am a failure at paleo. It did lose weight but I only did it for two days. The reason I am a failure is because I am a picky eater. I tried salad but I don't like a lot of vegatables. But I brought one and tried... (more)

Does anyone have any stories of how IF has NOT helped them? And why do you think it might have failed? Would love to hear both sides of the IF coin.

Hi All, Do we overestimate how good adopting a paleolithic lifestyle is because it has worked for us? Prior posts provided anecdotal evidence of 'paleo failures'. However, has it been systematically studied so we better know under what... (more)
