The article contains some true statements, some errors, and many non-scientific, unsupported assertions. It would be tedious to read the article line by line and categorize all the statements. I don't think the article merits that much attention.... (more)
I hear all this bull about putting on 20lbs of muscle in a month and so on, but I am starting to think that the only thing you could put on in a month is 20lbs of fat. I have been training seriously now for about 1 year and I have only gained 2.5... (more)
First off, it is hard to put on a sizeable amount of muscle or fat in a month, but you can put on a lot of water weight if you like. As for putting on muscle mass, you will need to eat a lot, and exercise in a way that stimulates hypertrophy. ... (more)

I once heard that people who spend a bit of time cooking don't eat as much. Is this attributed to the fact that cooks tend to taste as they work? Or does their being bombarded by olfactory input cause a sort of pseudo-satiation. If the latter is... (more)
I have no problem going without any food all morning, but do you think a cup of black tea with no cream or sweetener would skew the bloodwork results? I do enjoy my morning ritual of a cup of tea with my book before starting my workout and my day. (more)
Probably not, but why take the risk of mucking up the tests? It's only for one morning, you'll spend weeks trying to deal with the consequences of a bad blood test.
I scoffed at the idea of walking for fitness and stuck to sprints and infrequent runs. However, after being required to walk 2.5 miles in 35 minutes, I can see it's no joke. The experience got my heart rate up and worked my legs. However, I'm not... (more)
I usually do 17-18 minute miles walking 10 miles/day. If I go to 15 minutes I feel like I'm speedwalking, and am more comfortable jogging.
