I need a quick recipe to throw together for dinner. I also have a can of pumpkin, tomato paste, spices, tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic and tomatoes canned. Any ideas? Not sure what to do with the pumpkin - maybe a dessert of something?
http://paleohacks.com/questions/102139/what-to-do-with-some-ground-meat/102143#102143 Answer by Joshua for What to do with some ground meat Joshua 2012-03-02T20:13:53Z 2012-03-02T20:13:53Z
I've done a psuedo shepherd's pie with acorn squash in place of the mashed potatoes.

Perhaps you can do the same with the pumpkin?
http://paleohacks.com/questions/102139/what-to-do-with-some-ground-meat/102144#102144 Answer by ladyp for What to do with some ground meat ladyp 2012-03-02T20:20:31Z 2012-03-02T20:20:31Z
Buy some of this "Steak Spice Blend" for next time. I crave it with my ground meat and keep a bunch on the shelf.

http://www.atlanticspice.com/store/FullView.asp?URLStr=488 http://www.atlanticspice.com/store/gourmet-spices-bulk,category.asp

Or get the raw ingredients. Salt, Garlic, Black Pepper, Coriander Seed, Mustard Seed, Dill Seed, Red Pepper. SO GOOD! It's CLASSIC steak seasoning--but great with any kind of meat.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/102139/what-to-do-with-some-ground-meat/102153#102153 Answer by David for What to do with some ground meat David 2012-03-02T20:37:13Z 2012-03-02T20:37:13Z
Easiest ever:

add salt, pepper, garlic salt, cayenne pepper to taste.

Throw the meat in cabbage leaves and wrap like a burrito. When all fragrant, before the garlic burns, throw in the meat and cook until its where you want it, browned-wise. Drain the liquid from the canned tomatoes, if you want, and chop up very roughly, and throw in. Voila. I think if you try to work in the pumpkin, you'll only be messing with a good thing.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/102139/what-to-do-with-some-ground-meat/102183#102183 Answer by henny for What to do with some ground meat henny 2012-03-02T22:38:16Z 2012-03-02T22:44:27Z
Make a meatza! Use the meat patted down into a pizza shape and baked/drained, then top with a sauce made with the tomato paste, garlic, and spices.

Top that with thinly sliced tomatoes, mushrooms, and par-boiled (thinly sliced) pumpkin and cook briefly in the oven.

Another idea would be to make a meat stew with the meat, tomatoes, and mushrooms, par-cook the prepared pumpkin (cut the top off and remove seeds first), add the stew and bake until the pumpkin is cooked. It works like an edible bowl for serving- just park it in a real bowl to contain the juices when served.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/102139/what-to-do-with-some-ground-meat/102192#102192 Answer by Chelsea for What to do with some ground meat Chelsea 2012-03-02T23:20:52Z 2012-03-02T23:20:52Z
Thanks for all the ideas.
