Kamal 2012-03-13T18:29:54Z 2012-08-16T09:21:43Z
I love tracking shit. Because of that, I've been tracking how popular the "paleo" idea has been the past couple years. My business is spending too much time on paleo websites, and business is good! Here are where popular paleo websites rank out of all domains on the internet:

Here are things I've noticed: while "paleo" has been getting more popular, the top few sites have become mega more popular. This includes sciency sites, recipes cites, and this weirdo site called paleohacks. Also, I noticed that some awesome sites don't have as much traffic as I'd expect (e.g. thatpaleoguy). What strikes you about these rankings? Note that very few health/nutrition websites that are actually useful are in the top 1,000. Mercola is #500...I know he ruffles feathers for many, but he at least doesn't offer standard advice.

Note that this ranking is based on the flawed Alexa methodology, and not all sites are included because of difficulty gathering info.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/104730/here-are-paleo-website-traffic-rankings-thoughts/104731#104731 Answer by Eugenia for Here are paleo website traffic rankings: Thoughts? I mean, we link to those sites all the time in our PH threads.

I check Melissa, ThatPaleoGuy, J Stanton, PHD, etc., every day--where's everyone else going? Or, is the problem that I visit PH a dozen or more times per day and the others only once or twice?

Ouch, I'm getting a headache from all this thinking ...
http://paleohacks.com/questions/104730/here-are-paleo-website-traffic-rankings-thoughts/104736#104736 Answer by Rick for Here are paleo website traffic rankings: Thoughts? I bet superhumanradio will become more popular given the podcast's recent exposure on Itunes. I listen everyday. I am also happy to see undergroundwellness on the list since I also enjoy that podcast.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/104730/here-are-paleo-website-traffic-rankings-thoughts/104738#104738 Answer by DFH for Here are paleo website traffic rankings: Thoughts? It's growing fast.

Sites that get a lot of comments move through rankings much faster than just blogs. Both MDA and PH get repeat customers all day so it makes sense that they move up.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/104730/here-are-paleo-website-traffic-rankings-thoughts/104741#104741 Answer by raney for Here are paleo website traffic rankings: Thoughts? raney 2012-03-13T19:25:57Z 2012-03-13T19:25:57Z
Do you happen to have the info for Evolutionary Psychiatry? That is one of my favs.

I haven't heard of most of the bottom half of that last. It seems fitting that MDA would make the top; pretty much everyone I know that does paleo (myself included) began with the Primal Blueprint. Mark is really exceptional at presenting information in a digestible way. His is the only blog I read every single day.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/104730/here-are-paleo-website-traffic-rankings-thoughts/104777#104777 Answer by Karen P. for Here are paleo website traffic rankings: Thoughts? It's a great way to drive traffic to your site.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/104730/here-are-paleo-website-traffic-rankings-thoughts/143045#143045 Answer by Ceri for Here are paleo website traffic rankings: Thoughts? I started my own paleo recipe site about 18 months ago - and by no means is it going to compare with these experts - its just great to have some idea how one fits into all that. I heard there are 8,000 food blogs in the English Language - so its a tough world of food blog competition out there! www.cucinaceri.com !
