I've never really been 100 % committed to paleo, just semi-following the lifestyle of it. I decided to just give up sugar and gluten for a while.

Lately I have been having a lot of pain in my gut and loose fluffy and floaty bowel movements that come really suddenly (as in "oh god I have to go NOW").

Could it be because I haven't been eating meat for the last few days? I just haven't had the opportunity to eat meat so I've been having eggs, nuts, fruits, lots of veggies, sweet potatahs, and yams. Any advice on how to make a smoother transition?

Pistascios and macadamia nuts especially cause me great amounts of distress. Fiber in general does this to me as well. In a way this reaction was what led me to find I was celiac as I was looking for information as to why oats caused me distress.

Its to much of a change at once. Sounds like you are getting to much fiber in comparision to your meats. try to get some chicken or other meat in to help bulk up you stools, and cut back on the nuts.
Good Luck!

I know if I overdo the eggs, which for me is more than 3 a day for more than a few days in a row, I will feel the pain!

Went away after I went hard core Paleo (offal, coconut oil, fermented foods, bone broth etc), plus home-made goat kefir. Became completely asymptomatic as long as I was keeping my carbs below 60-70 gr a day. Eating lots of fish too, not just meat.

Very unpleasant. Still trying to figure out what exactly are all the things that trigger it - definitely nuts, oats, and prunes (my mother suggested them as a remedy, so I ate a bunch...bad plan). I'm pretty sure non-fermented dairy does, too, and possibly chickpeas. Probably more stuff but it's hard to pin down the culprits. I'm actually going to see a gastroenterologist soon for that and some other issues.

fat, too much causes floaty stools and can cause dirreahea for some

fiber, too much fibery carbs can cause it as well, and in combo with the above.

fruit, fruit is generally good in moderate amounts, but try bananas and apples w/o the skin for now

feel better!
