Hi, I previous asked about ghee and coconut oil. I wanted to incorporate more coconut oil in my diet. Besides using it as cooking oil how else do you incorporate it in your diet?

I also take some before I'm going out for a night of drinking to lessen some of the oncoming liver damage.

You can use it for non-diet purposes as:

-Personal lubricant

-Guitar string/squeaky door hinge lubricant

-Face and body moisturizer

-Hair conditioner. Gets rid of dandruff and certain fungal infections. Natural alternative to ketoconazole.

-Use it on your pets to keep critters away

The pressor (non coconut flavoured) stuff can be used in homemade mayonaise with some light olive oil.

As a cooking oil (or for mixing in with cocoa powder, or in mayo)

I mix it in with concentrated
coconut cream to keep it fresh
longer (the directions on the box
say to mix it with water to make
milk, but if you do, it goes bad in
2-3 days in the fridge.) I then use
this in coffee.

Mixed in with baking soda, it can
be used as both a deodorant (use
only a tiny bit), or as a tooth
paste.

oil pulls

moisturizer.

Not 100% sure, but
it seems to act as a very mild
sunscreen without the chemicals and
carcinogenic free radicals that the
commercial stuff has

mosquitoes repellent when used on skin (not 100% sure, but so far it has worked)

instead of using salt water with
a neti pot, I recently used coconut
oil to get rid of a sinus infection.

as a source of ketones when doing
IFs.

an anti-bacterial/viral/fungal
when sick.

thermometer. :) If it's
solid, it's under ~76F.

I add it to my coffee, but I find that it just sits on top and makes every sip taste kind of greasy and I get oil all over my lips instead of in my mouth. Drinking it out of a travel mug with a lid fixes that issue.

The easiest way I think to add it to your diet is to just eat it by the spoonful. If you don't like the taste or texture just chase it with the drink of your choice.

Add it to a rotation of olive, animal fats, palm oils...
