I add this to my breakfast most mornings. I'm curious to its Paleo integrity.

Made from Bio-Fermented Sprouted Whole Grain Brown Rice

Non-GMO

Hypo-Allergenic

Complete Amino-Acid Profile

OK, I love the stuff. It tastes great and I feel pretty good having it. I don't know anyone else that has tried it, and I want to know if it can be a healthy addition to the Paleo diet.

So, please scrutinize...

Here's more info on it -

Curious as I'd like to find an approved powder source for meals in a pinch or on the go.

Firstly, rice. Even sprouted, rice is not paleo.

Secondly, it's protein powder, not real food. This goes against a lot of the core concepts and philosophy of paleo.

I also believe (but I could be wrong here) that rice by itself is not a complete protein, so if this powder provides a complete amino acid profile it means it's been processed/manipulated in some way -- also not paleo.

However -- if this is the best way for you to live 90% paleo and live healthily, keep it in your diet. It's better to be mostly paleo and have a well rounded diet than to be compliant but start your day without protein.

Alternatives -- Try removing it from your diet for a month and see what happens. You could replace it with pasteurized egg whites (also borderline paleo due to the processing, but I'd argue "more" paleo than the powder), a raw egg, or simply eat meat/eggs for breakfast.

One "sort of approved" powder source would be Primal Fuel (http://primalblueprint.com/products/Primal-Fuel.html) but it is primal, not paleo (contains whey) and doesn't seem that different from the huge line-up of over-marketed protein powders. Eat real food.

I used rice protein powder for smoothies. Disregard someone saying this or that is not paleo. Whatevsr works for you is permissible.
