What are some things you do to keep yourself from caving in to "comfort foods"?
http://paleohacks.com/questions/135516/creative-ideas-for-paleo-motivation/135531#135531 Answer by Justin for Creative ideas for paleo motivation? Justin 2012-07-15T19:57:38Z 2012-07-15T19:57:38Z
Best stress reliever = a good run or a good lift. Hard to beat this weird concoction. You cant let your life revolve around food. Let food revolve around your life. (A friend who partakes in green once used this allusion to me to describe marijuana use and why he isn't a "Pothead"...)

1 cup of almond flour/meal (blanched or otherwise) 2 tbsp of coffee (ground) 1 tbsp of cocao Dark chocolate chips or broken up 99% bar (Soy-free, dairy free, etc...) (enjoy life are good) Half cup of honey (local is best) Might need some sort of other liquid. You can always smash up a banana. Either way, it'll be pasty, not like a cookie, and not solid. Regardless, I find it delicious.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/135516/creative-ideas-for-paleo-motivation/135552#135552 Answer by Chinaeskimo for Creative ideas for paleo motivation? Karen 2012-07-15T23:35:22Z 2012-07-15T23:35:22Z

Get rid of all non-paleo food in the house so you won't have easy access.

If other housemates eat non-paleo food, try to keep it separate in it's own cabinet and refrigerator shelf.

Plan ahead. Have a list of simple quick meals to put together in a minute or two for when you're HUNGRY. A super simple one I fall back on is canned tuna or salmon on salad greens with olive oil and balsamic vinegar or lemon. Hard boiled eggs are good to have on hand. Make your own list.

Keep a list on the fridge of things to eat fast when you are too tired to think or do real cooking.

Always have the ingredients for your emergency quick meals on hand. Don't let them run out.

Eat really big, high protein, high fat breakfasts so you can go comfortably for hours without temptation.

http://paleohacks.com/questions/135516/creative-ideas-for-paleo-motivation/135677#135677 Answer by cavejen for Creative ideas for paleo motivation? cavejen 2012-07-16T05:19:17Z 2012-07-16T05:19:17Z
Anticipate! If the day is going to be especially long or stressful (Mondays, for me), pop something delicious in the slow cooker in the morning or even the night before so there's a healthy, yummy meal ready when you get home tired and begging for some fast food.

Emergency protein/emergency meals is also one of my standbys. Always always have eggs, tuna and coconut milk in. Along with whatever else is in the fridge, I can usually make a really simple meal. Plus, I don't have the ingredients for anything nasty on hand, so it's a conscious effort to go and get some.

Find some new comfort foods. Almond butter on fruit is one of my favourites, as is coconut butter squares (melt coconut butter and put it in a silicone ice mold, then pop out individual squares as a snack). A lovely cup of herbal tea is also a lifesaver when the day gets rough.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/135516/creative-ideas-for-paleo-motivation/135684#135684 Answer by Happy Now for Creative ideas for paleo motivation? Happy Now 2012-07-16T06:07:24Z 2012-07-16T06:07:24Z
I say the best way to kill temptation is to give in as many times as it takes to really feel that icky feeling of having eaten icky food, and realize you feel better, and less stressed out with solid nutrition.
