What else can I put cinnamon on?

So I've finally ditched the dairy. (Except for heavy cream and butter. Yes, I realize I'm still eating dairy this way, but believe me, this is a huge reduction because I was previously consuming copious amounts of cheese, yogurt, sour cream, cream cheese, etc.)

I love cinnamon. Used to use a lot of it in yogurt -- as in, do I want some yogurt with my cinnamon? ;-)

So now that my primary cinnamon delivery vehicle is gone, what else can I put cinnamon on? Once in a while, I add some to my coffee, but that ain't enough, folks.

I think there are a ton of smoothie recipes out there that I could load up with cinnamon, but I hardly ever do smoothies. (Maybe I should remedy that?)

One thing I do already is canned pumpkin (plain, not the pie mix, obviously)-- great w/cinnamon.

I'm not really into the "Paleo treats," so I'm looking for suggestions outside the realm of "Paleo snickerdoodles," or "Paleo cinnamon rolls," know what I mean? ;-) Are there any savory dishes that call for a lot of cinnamon? (Sweet potatoes just occurred to me, but I eat relatively low carb. I'll have a sweet potato now and then, but they're not a staple for me.) I would imagine there are some Moroccan or Indian dishes that I could use more cinnamon than is normally called for, hehheh.

a lot of cuisines use cinnamon as a spice. Moroccan, Indian, Lebanese, Middle Eastern, Turkish, etc.

so plenty there.

Also apples and cinnamon are amazing together

I sprinkle a tiny bit of cinnamon (as well as a buttload of other spices) onto pork chops.

I also add some cinnamon when I make mashed butternut squash (which I pour a buttload of ghee on, which I think would be okay for you to use even though you've given up dairy).

I use dried apricots and dried figs for the fruit and dump cinnamon in until it tastes like I want it to.

I also add cinnamon to chili and will marinate chicken or pork in cinnamon, salt, pepper, and olive oil before throwing it on the grill. I love cinnamon in both savory and sweet applications.

I make cinnamon apples all the time. You could also make a cauliflower "rice" with coconut milk and cinnamon on top... maybe some pecans? nom nom nom rice pudding.

Also on ribs, plantain chips, etc.

Edit: I forgot, I grill bananas and top it with cinnamon and nuts.

I use cinnamon often in stirfrys. It goes well with mixed peppers, zucchini, chicken(or pork) then also add a little allspice, nutmeg and tumeric. I just keep adding each and tasting until I find the perfect balance. Got this idea from a Moroccan friend.

I mix ALL my nut butters with copious amounts of cinnamon and often a little clove and or nutmeg - but ALWAYS cinnamon!! Sometimes I add a little Xylitol.

I made some fakey horchata the other day when I was craving it really badly.

Unsweetened vanilla almond milk, Stevia and cinnamon to taste. Shake and pour over ice, yum yum.

I use it in coffee, on sweet potatoes (baked with butter & cinnamon yum), it's a good spice on chicken and pork, I like frying apples in a pan in butter and cinnamon (pears too).I made baked pears one time and made whip cream with just heavy whipping cream and cinnamon to go on top. I love cinnamon.

Bake Japanese sweet potatos whole. Stab then Wrap in foil and bake at 350 fora full two hours. Cool overnight. Next day eat them cold and sprinkle a ton of connamon on them. Super tasty cold snacks.

MY KIND OF QUESTION! Am I weird? I just had a 2-egg omelette cooked with a bit of coconut oil and Kerrygold Butter, stuffed with half a small avocado, and topped with raw sauerkraut, paprika, garlic, and a bit of ....cinnamon. I mess with cinnamon all over the place, especially in my coffee... but I LOVE IT with savory stuffs! DO IT DO IT!

I mix cinnamon and chili powder (roughly 1 to 3 ratio) to make a rub for chicken or beef. Grill and squeeze lime on top. Add mashed cauliflower and you have an awesome meal.

6 scrambled eggs cooked in butter (you can also add another tbsp of butter after to make it even more buttery), 1 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup, cacao powder and or cinnamon to taste. mix it all in a big bowl and its basically like french toast without the toast. its amazing.

Coconut milk, cinnamon and cayenne pepper makes a terrific sauce for pork chops Put bacon grease in hot skillet, When very hot throw pork chop in Cook until it releases naturally (flip and do same with other side) Toss a can of coconut milk (1/3-1/2 can depending on how many pork chops) Toss in spices and a little acv mustard turn heat down, put lid on and simmer for 15 minutes serve with sauteed mushrooms and onions, grilled tomato, sauerkraut What a feast:) Cinnamon is also good on frozen bananas or sweet potatoes with coconut manna:) Yum!

I like cinnamon on roasted plantains. I add it to whipped cream and whipped coconut milk as well. It's good mixed in with coconut butter too.

And another one... Mix coconut oil, unsweetened cocoa and cinnamon and throw it in the freezer to firm up a bit. You can also add in a little chili pepper to spice it up even more.

I put cinnamon in chili sometimes. Not usually, though, because even if I made a huge crock of chili and only put half a teaspoon in, my husband WILL taste it and say it's "too sweet for chili."

I tend to eat dried fruit + nuts for snacks. Sometimes I'm chop 'em all together with some cinnamon in a food processor.

This may not be what your looking for but maybe you can try it. I like to mix some full fat greek yogurt (Fage' if you must know) with ~tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 packet stevia, ~tsp instant coffee and a handfull of 'raw' almonds (whole or sliced). It's a real nice dessert like treat!

Look up Grassfed Girl's cinnamon chips (salt and cinnamon sprinkled on toasted coconut chips--yum!).
