My gi issues really piss me off. I eat dairy in form of heavy cream and butter, are they usually problematic? I think i suffer from ibs. My problems gone worse, when i started really high fat.. do ou think about? I am totally gluten and grain free. I have no typical daily menu, but for example yesterday: baked pork belly with sauerkraut, coffee with splash of heavy cream, snack: apricots, blueberries with cream, 2 squares of 90% lindt dark chocolate, almonds, dinner: leftover baked sauerkraut with plenty of pork fat, little bit of cheese. I have usually more veggies and some protein for dinner. I must say, that my body fat is melting away, but digestive issues remain.. Thanks for reading! Causes GI problems.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/137816/it-seems-that-high-fat-worsens-my-gi-problems-and-how-much-is-dairy-problematic/137832#137832 Answer by Dave S. for it seems, that high fat worsens my GI problems and how much is dairy problematic for you? Ramp up slowly to give the liver/gall bladder the ability to process the fat (more bile is required). I'm not saying you need to go high fat, but it works for some of us.

Dairy has lactose and casein, which can both be problematic. Either go off dairy (or stick to ghee) for a while to see if that helps or try to identify the problem. If it's lactose, cream, butter and cheese should be okay. But if it's casein, those are out (especially cheese).

Dairy is not a problem for me and I do eat high fat most of the time.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/137816/it-seems-that-high-fat-worsens-my-gi-problems-and-how-much-is-dairy-problematic/137837#137837 Answer by YoungPaleoLover for it seems, that high fat worsens my GI problems and how much is dairy problematic for you? The best way to see if dairy is problematic for you it to eliminate for a few weeks and re-introduce. Unfortunately, it probably will be, so you will have to make the decision on whether to you will continue eating something you enjoy or improve your gut health. You can always as someone else said keep the ghee and strict dairy kefir or maybe occasional grass-fed dairy if you'd like. I personally had to cut it all out. And high fat that isn't dairy (like Coconut oil) has significantly aided me in my digestive problems.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/137816/it-seems-that-high-fat-worsens-my-gi-problems-and-how-much-is-dairy-problematic/137843#137843 Answer by MathGirl72 for it seems, that high fat worsens my GI problems and how much is dairy problematic for you? After 3 or 4 weeks, you can try adding butter in small amounts back in and, if after a week or two you have no bad reactions, you can try adding cream back in small amounts. Some react to dairy, some don't. You will truly only figure it out by experimenting with your diet.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/137816/it-seems-that-high-fat-worsens-my-gi-problems-and-how-much-is-dairy-problematic/137974#137974 Answer by iLoveCream for it seems, that high fat worsens my GI problems and how much is dairy problematic for you? iLoveCream 2012-07-24T22:28:43Z 2012-07-24T22:28:43Z
I have decided to eliminate dairy, even it is very hard for me. I feel like I am addicted to cream (my nick, lol). I thaught butter and cream must be okay, but now I see, that it is definitely not a rule. Thanks a lot for advice!
