<p>When I was diving in the Solomons our boat went past a tuna cannery, the smell is horrendous. The fish must be cooked at a pretty high temperature to smell that bad, haven't touched a tin of tuna since. High heat destroys the omega 3 and other nutrients. Frozen or caught fresh on the day is the only way I'd eat fish (I don't eat fish though - I'm a scuba diver, and they are just too cute lol)</p>

<p>Fish is a lot better for you than many more refined foods so if it is a load of chocolate cookies or a cheap tin of tuna fish (if you cannot get fresh fish) then go for the tuna. I do eat grilled fresh organic salmon 4 times a week and do love most fish and seafood. I suspect my ancestors lived by the sea and ate loads of fish. I would certainly be disappointed if people were put off fish in whatever form as any is likely to be good for you and we all have to compromise within our budgets.</p>
