I don't really have a problem with ravenous hunger in the morning, but have found taking 15g of coconut oil upon rising takes the edge off.

I started doing it because I've read that :

A) coconut oil kick starts ketosis and fat burning

B) blunts hunger

C) does not interrupt the good kind of autophagy that protein and carb would

So D) it's like having the benefits of fasting, remaining in autophagic processes, while giving an extra boost

What are your ideas?
http://paleohacks.com/questions/141380/effects-of-taking-coconut-oil-on-a-fast/141388#141388 Answer by More Butter Please for Effects of taking coconut oil on a fast? And I do it for all the same reasons, plus:

E) I tend to poop infrequently on paleo, and this definitely solves that problem.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/141380/effects-of-taking-coconut-oil-on-a-fast/141392#141392 Answer by Frank Sabia Jr for Effects of taking coconut oil on a fast? But on days where I know I can't to train till later and my fast my go past or close to the 16 hr mark, I use coconut oil to get me over the hump of energy at that point. It worked really well. But I didn't make it a habit or ritual. It was my home made 5 hr energy shot : )
http://paleohacks.com/questions/141380/effects-of-taking-coconut-oil-on-a-fast/141395#141395 Answer by KA24 for Effects of taking coconut oil on a fast? Take a few tablespoons during a fast, especially when you hit the "wall", usually around 16 hours for me, and it's amazing. Now I'm not concerned with burning fat necessarily, but the energy and cognitive stimulation I get from MCT Oil would make it very easy to perform whatever is needed to burn fat.

MCT Oil is one of the best ways to get a fantastic workout in during a long fast. Take a tablespoon before and a tablespoon during and I can train for 60+ minutes just like I was in a fed state.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/141380/effects-of-taking-coconut-oil-on-a-fast/141481#141481 Answer by Mia for Effects of taking coconut oil on a fast? I actually like the energetic feeling of the fast, and taking oil, or even cream/butter/milk/coconut milk in tea or coffee simply tantalizes my senses and my body says, MORE! I find that small meals do the same thing. Eat big, or fast; that's what works for me.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/141380/effects-of-taking-coconut-oil-on-a-fast/148104#148104 Answer by Robert for Effects of taking coconut oil on a fast? I heard than an intake of more than what was it 75 calories ends a fast?
