I have been on it since January and I am down 90lbs, I work on a boat so I am away for periods of time and some people don't recognize me when I come back. I have introduced to about 10 people who were serious. I have been fielding questions via text and e-amil and I feel great helping others. I never would have thought that this lifestyle would not only change the way I look but the way I want to help others. Like I said just curious about others helping others.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/142598/helping-others/142602#142602 Answer by Slim Grim for Helping Others? I have converted a few friends, neighbors, and family members already. Try not to be pushy though, I wait until they show some genuine interest in paleo before I start to push them in the right direction. For christmas I plan on giving out copies of my favorite paleo book to everyone I care about.

Just make sure they know that you are not being condescending or telling them they need to lose weight, people tend to get defensive when they feel like they are being criticized.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/142598/helping-others/142605#142605 Answer by JB Primal for Helping Others? Actually started a new business because of it :)

Bought Sisson's book for a friend who read it and is slowly coming around. Also got a buddy at work to do it and he's down 10 pounds in four weeks.

Even my mother is trying it out, but she has tried every diet in history I think, so I don't really count that as a win for me.

http://www.jbprimal.com
http://paleohacks.com/questions/142598/helping-others/142628#142628 Answer by Marcy for Helping Others? Marcy 2012-08-14T14:27:37Z 2012-08-14T14:27:37Z
I feel sometimes like my paleo counseling is a part time job. I am calming down with it a little now, but I have converted most of my immediate family and quite a few friends.

Naturally, I think this diet is awesome and extremely healthy but there is a tiny voice in the back of my head that wonders if I have just introduced a way of eating to everyone I love the most that will elevate their risk for disease and premature death. Obviously, I hope and am almost completely sure it is the opposite. Just a tiny voice, but still....
http://paleohacks.com/questions/142598/helping-others/142640#142640 Answer by Julie for Helping Others? Julie 2012-08-14T15:12:15Z 2012-08-14T15:12:15Z
My mother has an autoimmune disease (alopecia) and my dad is (was) vegan. I really pushed her to give this a go and she resisted and resisted to the point where she got angry (It was hard for her to think about giving up gluten). I told her, among other things, that I love her and just want her to be healthy. She relented, we got her Robb Wolf's book and now, 3 months in, she is feeling really good and her disease is in remission and her hair is starting to grow back. My dad started eating fish and eggs and, big surprise to him, is also feeling so. much. better. I would never get that pushy with anyone else but this is my mom and dad and I couldn't stay silent, no matter how angry she became. (I knew it was her addictions talking) I just kept saying what Robb Wolf says--"try it for 30 days, what do you have to lose?"
http://paleohacks.com/questions/142598/helping-others/142685#142685 Answer by Carl D for Helping Others? Carl D 2012-08-14T18:20:41Z 2012-08-14T18:20:41Z
It really does feel great to help others and spread knowledge. The only problem comes when they get lazy and stop following the diet, which has happened to me with a few people including my mother.

I get kind of frustrated when I see her indulging in cake etc, but it is not my place to get involved. We do what we can to spread info to (generally ignorant) people and then it is up to their free will. Just try not to be too pushy!
