I am a little worried about the salt content in bacon and other deli meats. She just loves it and I see on alot of the paleo sites that alot of mums give their children bacon. She drinks alot of water after she has it so just wondering what you guys think about the salt and if there is a way of lowering the salt content in it? Cheers.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/143849/bacon-baby-salt/143850#143850 Answer by wickedween for bacon baby salt wickedween 2012-08-19T11:22:23Z 2012-08-19T11:22:23Z
I give my children bacon. I started giving my youngest regular bacon when she was 18 months. I don't worry about restricting salt for health reasons, but if it's too salty for her taste, maybe you could rinse it before cooking? Or maybe you have access to unseasoned bacon.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/143849/bacon-baby-salt/143878#143878 Answer by Joseph S. for bacon baby salt Joseph S. 2012-08-19T15:11:39Z 2012-08-19T15:11:39Z
My child loves bacon. Has since forever. I wouldn't worry too much about the salt, but they do sell low-sodium bacon.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/143849/bacon-baby-salt/143883#143883 Answer by PinkPika for bacon baby salt PinkPika 2012-08-19T15:39:32Z 2012-08-19T15:39:32Z
I would be much more concerned about the bacon source (and toxins the pigs were exposed to and/or ate) than the amount of salt.
