I take warm (can't stand hot) showers and get out as quickly as possible. You might be able to train yourself by making the water cooler and cooler every week, but I'm not that adventurous. =)

It will shame you into taking a cold shower without complaining :) I can only take cold showers in the summer, I hate anything hot or even warm when it's hot outside, well, my air conditioning is basically non-existant so that has something to do with it. But I sure enjoy warm showers in the winter!

It feels amazing afterwards. Like diving into a lake after you've been in the sauna.

Victoria Beckham says she also ends her showers with a jolt of cold to keep her skin firm, so I feel like it might have a beauty component too. Although please never repeat that I quoted Victoria Beckham.

I'm in Florida, and the cold water here is lukewarm compared to somewhere up north. It's still cold for a shower, but not the 55F range of temps.

I have been taking cold showers for the past decade because my swim coach said it helps us recover from workouts faster. I have no idea whether this is substantiated it or not, but since then I've gotten in the habit of taking them cold. Just jump in and after about 1 minute it's really not as bad. Try to get your whole body covered as soon as possible (head to toes, front to back) and then do a little dance for a minute. After that, it's really not that horrible, and extremely refreshing once you're out.

I hit the pavement, running at a pace of an 8 minute mile. As I start to get hot, I know the running is working to heat my body. Drenched in sweat 15 minutes later, I arrive back at my house. I immediately(after I pick out clothes) hit the shower. Anything warmer than lukewarm burns, so I get in to lukewarm water and lower the temperature to the perfect spot(I think it's around 75 degrees).

Nearing the end of my shower, I enjoy a jolt of cold water treatment. I slowly turn the nozzle towards the 'C', until the water turns off. Now, don't get me wrong - this isn't easy. It takes willpower to sit through it. The whole turning off the water takes 20 seconds, and the temperatures reaches a solid 55 degrees or so. When the water comes to a halt, I feel a euphoric godly sensation of awesomeness. I then make breakfast.

This is the running-shower regime of champions, I believe.
