How can you be sick of eggs, steak and bacon?!?!?! :)

But the rest I can do without. I am so much healthier and happier than I was. What's the point of a few seconds of enjoyment if it means living that way...

Sounds like you could use some variety in your meals. Have you tried any of the newer cookbooks? Just looking at the pictures should give you some ideas.

http://paleohacks.com/questions/146670/sick-of-paleo-food/146679#146679Answer by LiveFabuLESS for Sick of paleo foodLiveFabuLESS2012-09-01T18:44:13Z2012-09-01T18:44:13Z
Paleo is not about deprivation, just Paleo-fy ALL of the items you listed as follows:

Make homemade chips-- just fry up some potatoes (or sweet potatoes) in some lard, suet, or coconut oil

Ice cream: If you do dairy, make your own with some grassfed cream, eggs, vanilla and add some sugar, if you must-- if you don't do dairy, make it with coconut milk instead or blend frozen bananas with some berries.

Chocolate: Dark chocolate-- or, even milk chocolate (again, if you do dairy), is totally fine

Milk: Just opt for high quality-- or fermented or goat milk or coconut/almond/rice milk :)

That said, a cheat here and there is fine-- it's not about perfection, it's about doing better, that's all.

For a while I was eating nothing other than eggs boiled plain, plain potatoes steamed and with heinz mustard on them, and random fruits throughout the day.. I did this for a good two months and never got sick of it. I still could but at the time I needed to save more money, and right now i'm happily spending on various meats and things..

Go online and explore... that's how I got all my delicious recipes. I've never been tired of my food... other than when I make a large batch of something and have to eat it all myself.

I've been pretty strict Paleo for 11 months (100% compliance with everything except some sugar here and there), and I'm fed up. Right now I have some nice beef, bacon, fruit, and veggies in the fridge, and frankly, I'd rather just not bother eating.

The only reason I haven't "cheated" SAD style is because I truly can't without serious health consequences (I'm both gluten and casein intolerant). If you can't have even one speck of wheat or dairy, then most fun SAD things are pretty much out. So, I've been drinking diet coke. It is my rebellion.

Hopefully I will snap out of this soon, but I don't see how that's going to happen.

http://paleohacks.com/questions/146670/sick-of-paleo-food/146869#146869Answer by Little Rain for Sick of paleo foodLittle Rain2012-09-02T18:43:01Z2012-09-02T18:43:01Z
I get like that a lot. I'm not as bad as I used to be, though.
You need to find paleo foods that you really like. when you think about it, there are tons of different kinds of meat, veggies, nuts, etc. Also, I personally have a little dairy, especially really old cheese. Just a sprinkle adds much flavour.

But anyway! I'm also not against paleoified SAD foods. I know some people are. But seriously, what's better? Paleo pizza or SAD pizza? sometimes I do get bad cravings and if I don't have the paleo version, I know I'm just going to have the SAD version (and MUCH MORE of it).

Also, I'm learning what are major trigger foods and what aren't (in regards to SAD foods) and how much or little I can handle of each SAD food. So now, I allow bits of not-so-healthy foods into my diet, and that's usually enough to keep the binges away (granted I still try to stay away from major triggers like wheat).

But knowing that I can have certain unhealthy foods if I really wanted to actually lessens the cravings, because it's not some forbidden thing. Once I tell myself I can have a bit of this or that, then I end up actually wanting to eat healthy food for health's sake. Then it's not something I have to do, but something I want to do.

Of course, I try to stay away from major trigger foods. But in general, I think the 80/20 rule works for paleo.

But yeah most importantly ~ FIND PALEO FOODS YOU LOVE.
I think that's my most important advice. Just fool around with recipes and foods until you find those foods you love. :)

I got myself into this fat mess by using food to feed my emotions, not my body. So I get where Meatymichael is coming from (well except the generational thing...).

I've been paleo since April and I'm sick of sweet potatoes, eggs, coconut milk, and expensive food. Unfortunately, I can't go off this diet or I'll be really sick. I'd love to go out to eat and not special order food or pick up a pizza on the way home from work, drink a margarita, eat at friends and not seem like a pain, and eat a big freaking bowl of popcorn. Just waiting for paleo chefs to figure out how to make paleo caramel.... Thank goodness for paleomg recipes. She saves me from true unhappiness.

Not the most "paleo" of quotes, but generally speaking, letting yourself "cheat" with limitations 1) makes sure what you eat is better than what you might otherwise splurge on, and 2) makes it not a frequent affair. I'm sure not going to pull out my lard and fry up a bunch of potatoes on a whim. I've got to really want it.

Also, I'd encourage getting more adventurous with other real foods. Keeps things fresh.
