<p>Similar to how it was desirable for women to have a decent amount of body fat in past decades (unlike today, where the media tries to portray super skinny as more attractive), was it desirable for men to have a noticeable amount of chest hair, stomach hair, etc?</p>

<p>I'm a hairy guy and the women I've been with have loved it. But I have a closely cropped five o'clock shadow/beard too, and have a sprig of chest hair that pops up above my shirt's neckline. So it's not hard for women to tell I'm hairy. Women who don't like it usually don't get with me, which is completely fine.</p> <p>It's understandable why some women don't like it, but I think a large percentage of women will always love it. </p> <p>I'm happy to be a hairy guy. :)</p>

<p>I have no idea if it's true or not, but I've hard that in recent years the preference for less hairy men is because so many women are on the birth control pill. When a woman is on the pill, her body thinks it's pregnant, and is not looking to reproduce, and is therefore not looking for a mate who would be a good breeding partner, and since hair=high levels of testosterone=good breeding partner. Instead, they're looking for a companion who can be supportive of them (who might be kind of girly) ratehr than a breeding partner who is loaded with testosterone. (can think of many reasons why this could be rebuked, but it is understandable)</p>

<p>It seems like there is also a preference in the gay male community for less body hair. I know someone who does laser hair removal for a living and a large portion of her clients are gay men.</p>
