In the last 5 month I've developed really bad 'roids and poo that looks like number one on the poo chart. I can't explain why it started...there was no change in my diet.

I am now 5 days into a W30 with the wifey and though I'm eating veggies like a mad man....no change. It actually seems worse.

Sample meal: Breakfast: 3 eggs, 2-3 strips beef bacon, 1/2 avocado Snack: 1/4 cup cashews/macadamia Lunch: coconut curry (cauliflower, carrots, butternut squash, onions, chicken) over a bed of sautéed kale Snack: sweet potato with bacon +1/2 avocado Dinner 12 oz ribeye with heaping serving of sautéed kale

I now poo every other day... And when I do, they lookand feel like small round sand paper rocks. For the hell of it, I ate a HUGE salad last night and today my bum feels like I stuck barbed wire in it.

I have no ibs or gurd. I've tried prep h, suppositories, 2% hydrocortisone... I'm so dang frustrated... ARG!

I would appreciate any advice/help.

Peace PH!
http://paleohacks.com/questions/148092/sorry-another-poo-question-plus-i-got-roids/148114#148114 Answer by Alec for Sorry, another poo question, plus... It may be a gut flora issue.

If an increase in vegetable fibre worsens things, it may be 'slow transit constipation'. But I would try the probiotic approach before seeking a doctor.

To avoid 'roids do not strain. You need about 8-12 glasses of water a day which is a rough estimate and doesn't include anything you drink while exercising. Drink first thing in am, before eating a meal, after your meal, and last thing before bed. You may want to quit caffeine for a bit too, if you consume any. Also, "squatting" properly will relax your colon. I live in India so it's easy to do here. Last thing - exercise. You need to get up and walk around a lot to get things moving. Try to get in at least 20-30 mins activity each day.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/148092/sorry-another-poo-question-plus-i-got-roids/148130#148130 Answer by HuntingBears for Sorry, another poo question, plus... It has some interesting advice, but you can get it all on his website since he is really trying to sell his products. As a result of scrutinizing his products, I am taking probiotics, L-glutamine, and one tablespoon of citrucil in the morning. I'm also drinking Natural Calm which helps with stool softening. I hope some of this helps, as the hemorrhoidectomy is not a pleasant surgery!
http://paleohacks.com/questions/148092/sorry-another-poo-question-plus-i-got-roids/148170#148170 Answer by Josh M for Sorry, another poo question, plus... Two main ones are okra (1/2 pound cooked does the trick), and a a handful of carrots (or just eating 6-8 carrots over the course of a day). Also fruit pectins seem to move thins along too, so go nuts on a half pound of blueberries or something.

For the elimination part, see if you can get a milk crate or something that will allow you to put your feet up a foot or so. That way you can sit on the toilet with your knees higher than your hips, and kind of let your sphincter muscles relax and gently eliminate.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/148092/sorry-another-poo-question-plus-i-got-roids/148199#148199 Answer by bj for Sorry, another poo question, plus... My 'roids are virtually gone now that I've started sitting.
