Hey Hacks,

Ive been Gluten/Dairy/Soy free for about a year but have gone full Paleo the past 2 weeks in order to overcome digestion issues caused by food intolerances. So far so good!

I have about 10lbs and have been working out the past 6 weeks and seeing results on the scale, but not as much in my body as I would like to. I really want to get lean out and see muscle definition. I have been weight training 4x/week, doing HIIT 2x/week and also doing cardio on days that I weight train (running 3-4 miles). Could my running be hindering my muscle gains and leaning out? I have been losing 1-2lbs a week but dont like how my body is looking. I am pear shaped and really want to lean out my lower half. (My diet is not the issue, I eat SUPER clean, make all my own food, dont drink alcohol, dont drink coffee, etc)

ALSO, I wake up EVERY NIGHT like clock work an hour after i go to sleep. Like a jolt out of bed. I think this is cortisol related, as I have also a bit of belly fat that I have never had before in my life. This has been happening the past 2 months or so.

So, does cutting back on cardio and sticking to just weight training and HIIT 2x/week sound like it would help my situation? I also really love yoga but havent practiced in awhile so I may incorporate that into my routine in leu of running.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

What I would recommend is 3/week weight training, one hiit session and some slow walks. In fact you don't need the hiit session.

Yes weight training and yoga FTW!
