My friends birthday is coming up and she wants me to make her super healthy brownies. I'm trying to make them as paleo as possible, but I want to make sure she loves them. She loves dark chocolate. If I make her anything, it has to include dark chocolate. She's allergic to coconut. I was thinking about these ingredients..
Ingredients
3 Cubes dark chocolate
1 Banana
1 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
6 egg whites
1.5 tbs baking soda
1.5 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1 tbs cinnamon
2 tbs almond milk
1 tbs honey

Would this actually make brownies? How many? (I want them to bake 10 or more)
I also have no idea how to bake this..Help please?
And please dont comment any recipes unless they contain only these ingredients. I tried yahoo answers earlier, that was such a mistake.:P

Thank you!!!

I make these: www.livefabuLESS.com/brownie-bites If nuts are okay (not coconut, but nuts) these are the BOMB-- and they require no baking (take about 3 minutes to make-- and my entire family LOVES them!)

That will make a rather horrifying omelet like creation.

Brownies need the right body, or they are just not brownies. You can't go from wheat-based brownies to egg and still call the concoction "brownies" - you need to add a nut flour or starch of some kind in there. I'm imagining a child eating what you described, taking a bite, looking at you to see if you are tricking her or him, and then crying as they realize there are no brownies, just a sad, brown pancake that tastes vaguely of eggs, tears, and a fleeting childhood.

Furthermore, brownies often have frosting, which frankly would take this recipe to the edge of paleo-ified desserts, and well into "faileo". You can probably get away with topping the main brownie body with dark chocolate squares, ideally slightly melted.

If you're going to make a paleo-ified dessert, checkout a site like http://www.elanaspantry.com/ , find a recipe that sounds like what you want, but replace any suggestion of coconut{oil, flour, milk, meat, or sugar} with butter, almond flour, cow/goat milk, and any other sweetener. Search google for sugar to {honey, agave, molasses} conversion ratios.

It is basically chocolate, sugar, butter and eggs (plus nuts if wanted). I don't know what would make a brownie "healthy" to your friend - is she paleo? If she isn't paleo and healthy to her means low fat (seeing that you included egg whites) I would go with a gluten free brownie mix and exchange eggs for egg whites. Gluten Free Pantry is a really tasty brand. When it comes to cooking and baking for others, I just try to make what they want, and keep the paleoish needs out of it and skip having a piece myself if I find the ingredients egregious. Especially for a birthday cake type item - it should be special for your friend and not a time to push paleo, unless she is into it.

Only change I made was to add 2 TBSP of 100% cocoa powder to the mix and I used a few 90% dark chocolate bars that I "chipped" up myself. They were better than any "normal" brownie I ever had.

This is akin to "healthy whole wheat."

I do them in ramekins or muffin tins, so not exactly "brownies" but little lava cakes that are birthday-friendly. Taste a lot like a brownie though.

-4 eggs

Whip to 3x volume (yolk and white)

-8 oz chocolate

-1/4 c butter

-1/4-1/2 c sugar

melted over a double boiler. whisk.

Fold chocolate mix into egg froth. Immediately pour in ramekins and put in 375-400 degree oven. Should only take 8ish minutes. Pop out when still gooey in the middle if you want lava cakes, keep cooking for a bit if you want brownies.

It's her birthday. No one deserves to eat faileo on their birthday.
