I realize in the large scheme of things, any lettuce I eat probably doesn't have a huge effect on much. But I'm wondering what kind of lettuce is most popular amongst paleo types. I like all kinds of lettuce, so I purchase based on function: I buy field greens if I'm making a salad, romaine or boston if I'm using it as a wrap, iceberg if I'm chopping it up. I've branched out to alternatives like dandelion greens, kale, cabbage, spinach, and arugula, but I find myself coming back to the lettuces for most things, so I'm just wondering if there are any I'm leaving out.

I'd say almost half of what I eat gets wrapped in boston lettuce. I eat kale by the bundle (a la kale chips.) Romaine mix for my salads. Spinach cooked in butter or thrown in an omelet.

The rest of your rotation looks awesome. I also like red and green leaf lettuces: more tender than romaine, but will function well as a wrap, yet sturdier than what is marketed as micro greens and mixed greens.

I love black seed Simpson, bibb, butter, red leaf and green leaf, frisee, arugula, endive, miner's lettuce, lolla rossa and lolla bionda, mascara, and Amish deer tongue.

So pretty much any lettuce that is not iceberg or Romaine.

My husband and I eat spinach in all our salads and use iceberg as a lettuce cup for ground meat or as a wrap for a burger. The more options you have the less likely you are to get bored.Cabbage and kale are great too because you can do so many things with them.We love kale with onions, garlic, mushrooms, and bacon. So tasty!
