But sometimes, I can't believe the questions. Do you ever want to just say, "Who cares?"
http://paleohacks.com/questions/149687/i-apologize-in-advance-for-this-question/149688#149688 Answer by Varelse for I apologize in advance for this question. What's obvious to one person may not be obvious to another. Really. We're all struggling in one way or another. And what someone is asking may not be their real question. They may just be reaching out for a human being that will help them frame the question. (I see that here ALL the time.) What's the harm in being kind (or at the very least not being mean)? You may be the one person who gave them a break that day or week. One thing you tend to forget is that this goes against the grain in SO many ways. (Yes, that was a pun!).
http://paleohacks.com/questions/149687/i-apologize-in-advance-for-this-question/149709#149709 Answer by Julie for I apologize in advance for this question. Julie 2012-09-16T01:23:21Z 2012-09-16T01:23:21Z
As a new paleohacks user (and as someone who's slightly worried that maybe I'm the cause for at least some of the irritation because, on retrospect, some of my questions have been pretty dumb), I'd like to say that the paleohacks search isn't all that helpful and finding the archives isn't exactly intuitive. I've been on forums where there was a really useful "read this shit before you ask a question" page that answered the most common questions or linked to outside resources (and/or that linked to previously asked questions with very good answers), which might be useful here. Of course, such a page is no guarantee that anyone will read it before asking said stupid/repetitive/trolling questions, but instead of everyone posting a million responses that have been posted before, everyone can just bomb them with links to the FAQ page. The FAQ here is good, but it's more about protocol and tone and scope rather than questions that are frequently asked on the forum, per se.

Of course, Google is usually pretty helpful, and I agree that people should research more before embarrassing themselves with dumb questions. (I'm referring to myself, here.)

That having been said, as someone who's new to paleo and in a pretty rural area, sometimes it's just nice to get feedback from other paleo people. It's kind of like having mentor-cavepeople to show me where the clubs and dinosaurs and stuff are.

Just sayin'.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/149687/i-apologize-in-advance-for-this-question/149712#149712 Answer by paleorox for I apologize in advance for this question. paleorox 2012-09-16T01:25:12Z 2012-09-16T01:25:12Z
This question does not embody what paleo hacks is about.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/149687/i-apologize-in-advance-for-this-question/149717#149717 Answer by MiMintzer for I apologize in advance for this question. Jamie 2012-09-16T12:46:27Z 2012-09-16T12:46:27Z
I usually dont read those questions, as I try not to get annoyed over the interwebs, it seems futile and unhealthy. Doesnt always work, but most of the time it does. Real life is filled with no less naivety, confusion, drama or trivia, so remaining chill is good practice.

On the whole, I think human beings are amusing and strange creatures. Which, when I have a good sense of objectivity, can be a great source for a giggle.
http://paleohacks.com/questions/149687/i-apologize-in-advance-for-this-question/149823#149823 Answer by Kation for I apologize in advance for this question.
